Victoria, BC – Traffic will be disrupted, and we are deploying temporary CCTV cameras as we work to keep everyone safe during Monday’s Victoria Day Parade.

While we are working with organizers to help minimize impacts, traffic will be disrupted along Douglas Street, starting from Tolmie Avenue, starting at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, May 22, 2023. Full road closures on Douglas Street continue to Belleville Street along the parade route, go into effect at 8:00 a.m. The roads should be re-opened to traffic at approximately 1:30 p.m.

For live updates on the events that day, including road closures and public safety messaging, please follow us on Twitter on our @VicPDCanada account. We will be using the #VicPDLive hashtag.

Note that signs indicating that overnight parking will not be permitted are going up along the parade route.

The deployment of these cameras is in keeping with both provincial and federal privacy laws. Temporary signs are up in the area to ensure  the public is aware. The cameras will be taken down once the events have concluded. If you have concerns about our temporary camera deployment, please email [email protected]
