Victoria, BC – Victoria Police Department is proud to announce the appointment of Jamie McRae as Deputy Chief Constable.  

“Deputy Chief McRae has been an outstanding leader in VicPD, and I know he will continue to apply his extensive experience and leadership skills to the role of Deputy Chief Constable while upholding the values of our Department,” said Chief Constable Del Manak. 

Deputy Chief McRae first joined VicPD as a volunteer in 1996 and was sworn into service as a constable in 1998. He has more than 25 years’ experience as a police officer with the Victoria Police Department, including leading the Patrol and Human Resources Divisions of the Department.  

Jamie holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Guelph Ontario, and is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources.  

Two Deputy Chiefs report to the Chief Constable: the Deputy Chief of Administration, Jason Laidman and Deputy Chief of Operations, Jamie McRae.
