Victoria, BC – Investigators are looking to speak with the victim of an assault after they arrested a man in downtown Victoria on Friday night.

Just after 11:15 p.m. on Friday, March 22, officers with VicPD’s Late Night Taskforce responded to a report of an assault near the intersection of Yates Street and Government Street. While on route, one of the officers was flagged down by an additional victim, who said they were assaulted and presented visible but non-life-threatening injuries. This second victim advised where the suspect was located, but then left the area.

Once on scene, officers arrested the suspect and were approached by the initial victim who reported the assault, and confirmed it was the same suspect who had struck them in the face. The two victims are not known to each other or the suspect, and both assaults are believed to be random. No weapons were involved.

The suspect was later released with an appearance notice to attend a future court date.

Investigators are looking to speak with the unidentified victim. If you are the victim of this assault, or have information about this incident, please call the E-Comm Report Desk at (250) 995-7654 extension 1 and reference file number 24-10011.
