Victoria, BC – The investigation into a suspicious hit and run from last week continues after the driver of a stolen vehicle struck a residence, causing significant damage to the property. 

On Monday, March 25, just after 5:30 a.m., VicPD Patrol officers received a report from a resident in the 900-block of Southgate Street that their house had just been struck by a vehicle and the driver had fled on foot.  

Several officers attended and an extensive search of the area was conducted, aided by the Integrated Canine Services unit; however, the suspect was not found.

After contacting the registered owner of the vehicle, investigators determined it had been stolen that same morning. Officers from the Forensic Identification Services unit attended to process and document the scene. 

Investigators are asking the driver of the vehicle, any witnesses who saw the incident, anyone in the area around the time of the incident that has dashcam footage or doorbell camera footage, or nearby businesses with CCTV footage to call the E-Comm Report Desk at (250) 995-7654 extension 1.
