Victoria, BC – Today we honour VicPD Cst. Ian Jordan, who on April 11, 2018, at 66 years old, passed away after receiving a traumatic brain injury 30 years ago, following a serious vehicle incident while responding to an early morning call.

Cst. Ian Jordan was injured on duty on September 22, 1987, as he was responding to a business alarm. His police vehicle collided with another responding unit at Douglas and Fisgard streets. He never regained consciousness and was hospitalized up to the date of his passing on April 11, 2018. He was 35 years old at the time of the incident.

Hospitalized for over 30 years, many VicPD officers and staff visited Cst. Jordan regularly and made sure he knew he was part of our VicPD family. A radio channel and scanner were maintained at Cst. Jordan’s bedside until his recent passing.

Cst. Ian Jordan is survived by his wife Hilary and son Mark, who are in our thoughts today.

We will never forget the service and sacrifice of our fallen heroes. You can learn more about the VicPD officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the of duty by visiting: Fallen Heroes – VicPD.ca.
