Victoria, BC – A man has been arrested for sexual assault as our investigation into a series of incidents on BC Transit busses continues.

Officers began investigating after a young woman came forward earlier this week reporting an interaction with a man on a BC Transit bus. A report of this incident was also shared online, which prompted several other young women to come forward to share reports of similar incidents.

VicPD investigators began working with BC Transit staff, Saanich Police Department and West Shore RCMP investigators to identify and locate the suspect. Through these coordinated efforts, investigators were able to locate and arrest a suspect. While one charge of sexual assault has been forwarded to Crown Counsel, our investigation remains active and is ongoing leaving us limited in the details we are able to release at this time. The suspect was tele-bailed and released on a series of conditions which include those which bar him from bus stops and buses. The suspect will be monitored to help ensure his compliance with these conditions.
