Victoria, BC – The Victoria City Police Athletic Association (VCPAA) is a non-profit society that supports events in the community and fosters positive relationships between the police and youth in Greater Victoria and on the South Island. The VCPAA was established in 1971 as a registered society and donates $30,000 per year towards youth sports and various scholarships.

 

If an effort to raise money for youth sports programs, the VCPAA is hosting a concert featuring Tom Lavin and the Legendary Powder Blues Band.  Over the years, the band has toured non-stop throughout Canada, the United States and overseas, selling over a million records along the way.  The band has toured with musical legends like Willie Dixon, John Lee Hooker, B.B. King and James Brown.

The Jason Buie Band with special guest Lauren Webb will be opening the show and Jason will be introducing his new CD “Driftin’ Heart.”

Since its inception, the VCPAA has donated over $1,000,000 to events in our communities.  VicPD officers volunteer hundreds of hours towards these initiatives throughout the year.

Along with the annual youth golf tournament, the VCPAA sponsors and supports:

  • Boys and Girls Junior High School City Basketball Championships
  • Scholarships at Esquimalt High School, Victoria High School and Camosun College
  • Sponsor of numerous community athletic teams in all areas of the South Island
