VicPD Major Crime Detectives are continuing to gather evidence following a serious stabbing that has left a man with life-threatening injuries.
This morning, at approximately 12:30 a.m., multiple people called 911 after witnessing a stabbing that occurred at the corner of Douglas and View Streets. Police officers quickly responded to the scene and located a man suffering from a life threatening stab wound. That man was quickly transported to the hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.
Patrol officers were able to locate the suspect in the area and he was taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing and detectives are seeking witnesses to the stabbing or the events that led up to this serious assault.
A 27 year-old man remains in custody as investigators continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses.
