Investigators are looking to identify witnesses as part of a sexual assault investigation.
Passersby called police when they observed a sexual assault taking place in the 700-block of Cormorant Street around 2 a.m. on August, 31st. Officers attended and took a man into custody.
Major Crime Detectives believe there are several witnesses who saw the woman and her assailant together on Cormorant Street before and during the assault. In particular, investigators are seeking a male witness to the incident who was dressed in black and walking on Cormorant Street at 2 a.m. It is believed the suspect yelled at this witness during the assault.
