Victoria, BC – A man identified as a suspect in a vandalism investigation has been arrested and released on a promise to appear in court after attending our 850 Caledonia Avenue headquarters and identifying himself as the person in the photo.

Officers were looking to identify the man after a photo was taken of him after an area resident observed him allegedly “tagging” property in the 900-block of Meares Avenue on March 5th. Several tips about the man’s identity were called in after the photo was posted yesterday which lead to the man himself attending our headquarters. Officers credit the photograph and suspect description with leading to the identification of the suspect and his arrest.

Our graffiti coordinator asks that if you see graffiti in process to please call 911. When safe and when possible, a photo and description of the suspect can be instrumental in these files. The 23-year-old Victoria man, who has not been convicted of an offence in this matter, is to appear in court in June.
