Chief’s Youth Council

The Victoria Police Chief’s Youth Council is comprised of youth representatives aged 15-25 who have participated in previous YCI activities. The mission statement of the CYC is “To be a force of positive change and inclusion in the community through collaboration between the Victoria Police Department and the youth in Greater Victoria”.  One goal of the CYC is to share information about projects/initiatives taking place in each school so that they can be supported and enhanced, both by other schools and their communities. The CYC also organizes and implements YCI “Motivational Day” on a Pro-D day in October. This is a day that is intended to inspire students to implement projects of change within their schools, community, and throughout their social experiences. This day not only inspires the attendees, it connects them with other youth who endeavour to make a difference in their schools, allowing for more efficient projects which reach a broader spectrum of people.  To become involved please contact us.

Volunteer Opportunities – Chief’s Youth Council – We are currently volunteering once per month at the Portland Housing Society (844 Johnson st) doing meal preparation/service. A project we’ve just finished is the “library project” which aimed to build a library from donated books at the Super 8 (Portland Housing Society). If you or your school would like more information on this project please send an email to [email protected].
