Victoria BC – Daniel Penney, a 51-year-old Victoria man, has been arrested by the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit and VicPD for the murder of Caitlin Walton.
VicPD officers were requested to attend the residence in the 800-block of Queens Avenue on Friday night by the West Shore RCMP as they were investigating the attempted suicide of her common-law partner, Penney. Inside the residence, they found Walton deceased.
Since that time VIIMCU and VicPD have been investigating the homicide and, today, have had charges of second degree murder approved against Penney.
He remains in custody awaiting his next court date.
