Victoria, BC – A timely 911 call is being heralded as life-saving and VicPD investigators are recommending attempted murder charges against two men after a third man was severely beaten on Friday night.

Just after 9 p.m. Friday night a resident of a multi-room residential dwelling in the 200-block of Langford Street called 911 after hearing what that person believed to be someone being assaulted in one of the rooms in the complex.  Patrol officers arrived and discovered a 43-year-old Victoria man suffering from what appeared to be life-threatening injuries. He was quickly transported to hospital. Two men were located on scene and were taken into custody. Information obtained by investigators indicated the timely 911 call may have interrupted the assault, saving the victim’s life.

Police are recommending charges of Attempted Murder against George Earl Storry, a 60-year-old Victoria man, and Russell Hugh Meredith, a 53-year-old Victoria man.
