Victoria, BC – Following up on the release of the 2023 VicPD Community Survey findings, we’re taking some deeper dives into the data.

For the third of our #OpenVicPD 2023 Community Survey Deep Dives, we’re looking at what Victoria and Esquimalt respondents told us regarding whether the community and police can work to create a safer community together, which is the Vision of the Victoria Police Department.

VicPD 2023 Community Survey Deep Dive | A Safer Community Together

There are many ways that citizens can get involved with VicPD in creating a safer community together, from learning more about crime prevention, to becoming a Block Watch participant or VicPD volunteer, to considering a career in policing.

Last week, we looked at how respondents reported that crime had changed alongside Statistics Canada’s release of Victoria and Esquimalt’s latest Crime Severity Index (CSI) numbers.

We began our deep dives by going through our methodology, explaining how the survey was conducted, who we heard from and what the margin of error for the survey is and how that helps us understand the results.
